Lust as Sensuality
The sensuality of this picture reveals the average media viewpoint of lust in our society. Christina Aguilera is wearing this red sexy lingerie and she has an evil look. According to the Bible, “Lust is the root of all evil.” What is the message that this picture is passing to us? Physical sensuality stimulates our senses to sex and the way we dress and behave can dictate our sensuality. We can limit lust to sexuality, but one may want to consider the larger arena of sensuality. Sensuality attracts people and that’s why the media today is focusing on that. There is sensuality in everything today; clothes, music, movies, business and so on because many people in our society have come to equate this concepts with sex. This is a delicate topic to discuss because sensuality is an attribute that one can have and it can be a beautiful thing if is not used for lust. The problem is that sensuality became a tool to corrupt people’s mind for sexuality in our society and what once was a natural gift became something ordinary and common. Today, the demeaning of sensuality with celebrities in pictures are seen everywhere, which causes young girls to think that it is important to be sexy in order to be liked and noticed. As a consequence, they start their sexual lives earlier and end up exposing themselves more, creating reactions of lust in men’s minds. Unfortunately in most cases sensuality has been replaced with lust.
